Mariners minor league report, April 16 — Walker scratched from start

Full report … 04.16.14 Mariners Minor League Report

There is no update on Taijuan Walker yet. We will likely ask manager Lloyd McClendon, but I’m not sure how much information he will have. As noted in Jayson Jenks’ story, GM Jack Zduriencik was in Tacoma last night to watch Walker pitch. The Mariners may release a medical update on Walker.

Stephen Pryor also pitched in Tacoma last night, pitching one inning, giving up a hit and striking out one. Velocity was still in the low 90s according to Jenks. But it’s a work in progress.

*** Class AA Jackson’s game was postponed last night, and they already played today, and lost 7-2.  Josh Lemons of the Jackson Sun had this feature on Stephen Pryor.

*** Class A High Desert lost 5-4 to Lancaster. Patrick Kivlehan hit a two-run homer and DJ Peterson had two hits.

*** Class A Clinton got five shutout innings from starter Edwin Diaz, but the LumberKings couldn’t get any runs across in a 2-0 loss.
