Roster move coming?

Update Wednesday morning: A Nick Franklin tweet confirms that he is on his way to Texas via airplane. The Mariners aren’t confirming or denying it. But that’s standard as they have to wait until his plane actually lands and he’s in the ballpark before they make the move.

Nick Franklin was pulled from tonight’s game in Tacoma in the eighth inning. Most of you know this isn’t normal. And Franklin wasn’t hurt. The exit was to prevent him from being hurt before the Mariners likely add him to the 25-man roster tomorrow. Multiple sources have confirmed that Franklin is being called up. Expect Franklin to be join the team in Arlington on Wednesday.

Here’s Franklin’s numbers …

The corresponding move would assumed to be placing Logan Morrison on the 15-day disabled list. Morrison had his injured hamstring heavily bandaged today when he went out to batting practice.

That seems logical. I don’t really see another possible move.

Not sure how manager Lloyd McClendon will make the playing time and at-bats work. Guess that’s something we will ask him.
