Class AAA Tacoma was roughed up in Reno, giving up 18 hits and losing 15-11 in a PCL special. Xavier Avery (5×6, 3 R, 2B, 2 SB) tied his career-high in hits, going 5-for-6 with 3 runs scored, 1 double and 2 stolen bases. It marked his 4th career 5-hit game and first in Sept. 1, 2013 vs. Sacramento (w/TAC). Here’s Mike Curto’s blog post. The Rainiers face Randy Wolf tonight in Reno.

Class AA Jackson lost 7-4 in Huntsville. Patrick Brady hit his first home run of the season and drove in all 3 of the Generals runs

Class A High Desert scored five runs in the top of the seventh to roll to a 12-4 win over Rancho Cucamonga. D.J. Peterson (3×5, 2 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, BB) lead that team in both hits and RBI, while 2B Tim Lopes recorded the team’s other multi-hit game.

Class A Clinton shut out Peoria 4-0.  Starter Lars Huijer and reliever Thyago Vieira combined on a 4-hit shutout as Clinton defeated Peoria 4-0 on Thursday night. Huijer (7.0,3,0,0,1,2,WP) recorded his 2nd win of the season, allowing only 3 hits in 7.0 scoreless inning. Vieira (2.0,1,0,0,0,3) allowed 1 hit and struck out 3 over 2.0 innings to secure the victory.
