Mariners minor league report, May 14

Class AAA Tacoma

The Rainiers rallied to tie the game in the ninth inning on a wild pitch, took a lead in the top of the 10th, but lost 5-4 in the bottom of the 1oth at Las Vegas. Abe Almonte had three hits (two bunt hits) in the loss. Chris Taylor had two hits.

From the notes: Taylor currently has an 8-game hit streak, batting .429 (15×35) with 9 runs scored, 2 doubles, 3 triples, 5 RBI, 3 walks and 4 stolen bases. has hit also safely in his last 26 of his last 29 games (since April 11) with 17 multi-hit contests, batting .415 (51×123) with 27 runs scored, 11 doubles, 5 triples, 3 home runs, 18 RBI, 10 walks and 9 stolen bases. During this stretch he has raised his season average from .136 to .371. Overall he is hitting .372 (54×144) with 29 runs scored, 13 doubles, 5 triples, 3 home runs, 21 RBI, 12 walks and 9 stolen bases

Tacoma is in Sacramento tonight.

Class AA Jackson

The Generals lost 10-7 to Tennessee in a game that featured five triples. Starter Cam Hobson had his streak of innings of  not allowing an earned run, snapped at 23.  Jackson’s afternoon game today has already been cancelled.

Class A High Desert

The Mavs rally came up just short with runner on first and second being stranded in the top of the ninth in a 3-2 loss to Visalia.  Tyler Marlette had a pair of doubles and scored a run. Tyler Pike pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits with four walks and seven strikeouts.

Class A Clinton

The LumberKings swept a doubleheader over Burlington by scores of 7-4 and 3-2.  Jack Reinheimer had a walk-off single to win the nightcap. Jeff Zimmerman had three hits in two games including a home run. Clinton game notes … 5.14.14 Clinton game notes
