Mariners minor league report, May 19 — Rainiers returning home

Class AAA Tacoma

The Rainiers dropped the final game of the long road trip, losing 6-1 at Sacramento. Abraham Almonte had a tough sixth inning in the loss. Mike Curto writes in his blog about the joy of being back in Tacoma after a 12-game, 13-day trip.

Class AA Jackson

The Generals rolled to an 8-1 win over Montgomery and also  tested out one of the new base-running rules in the process.

Class A High Desert

Inland Empire scored all of its runs in the fourth inning and then hung on for a 7-5  win over the Mavericks. Outfielder Burt Reynolds, who was promoted to High A recently, had two hits in the loss.

Class A Clinton

The LumberKings got a combined shutout from starter Carlos Misell and reliever Thyago Vieria in a 5-0 win over Beloit. Misell threw seven innings, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking one. Austin Wilson had a pair of hits, including a homer in the win. Clinton game notes: 5-19 – Clinton game notes
