Mariners minor league report, May 21

Class AAA Tacoma

The Rainiers were shutout 7-0 by Reno at Cheney Stadium. Tacoma had a season low five hits in the loss. Starter Jimmy Gilheeney gave up a grand slam early and the Rainiers never recovered. Class AA Jackson

The Generals had an off day. They are back in action tonight at Jacksonville.

Class A High Desert

The Mavericks dropped the opening game of their seven-game road trip, losing 4-2 at Lake Elsinore.

Class A Clinton

Starter Lars Huijer was rouged up, lasting only a 1 2/3 innings and giving up seven runs (five earned) on five hits with two walks, a balk and two hit batters as the LumberKings lost 14-3. .
