Mariners minor league report, May 24 — Peterson homers of twice for High Desert

Class AAA Tacoma

Class AA Jackson

Leon Landry went 4-for-4 his second big game this week and John Hicks homered to lead the Generals to an 8-6 win. Victor Ssanchez pitched five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, to pick up his first Class AA win. From the report:  Hicks currently has an 11-game hit streak, batting .419 (18×43) with 12 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs,
10 RBI and 4 walks. Landry has hit safely in 5 of his last 6 games with 5 multi-hit contests, batting .700 (14×20) with 3 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 4 RBI and 1 stolen base.

Class A High Desert

DJ Peterson hit a pair of of homers and drove in five runs, but the Mavericks lost 12-8 to the Bakersfield Blaze. Peterson’s first homer came off of hard-throwing pitcher Ben Lively. From the report: Peterson has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games, batting .317 (19×60) with 12 runs scored, 5 doubles, 5 home runs, 19 RBI, 3 walks and 2 stolen bases

Class A Clinton
