Mariners minor league report, June 9 – Choi activated and sent to Class AA Jackson

Ji-Man Choi was activated from the suspended list and sent to Class AA Jackson. Choi started the season with Tacoma and will likely head back there soon. But with Logan Morrison rehabbing in Tacoma, there was no place for him to play. He was in the line-up for this afternoon’s game in Jackson and batting fourth.

Mickey Wiswall was optioned to Class A Pulaski to make room.

Class AAA Tacoma

The Rainiers got a lead-off homer from Abraham Almonte and a late homer from Humberto Quintero, but it wasn’t enough in a 3-2 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes. Former Mariner Trayvon Robinson had a tw0-run double for the Topes. Logan Morrison had two hits and two walks in the game.

Here’s video of Almonte’s dinger.

Taijuan Walker is starting tonight in Memphis.
