Rangers made a lineup change and Adrian Beltre is at third instead of DHing today.

 First inning

Iwakuma works a 1-2-3 inning.

M’s got a leadoff double from Endy Chavez. But James Jones popped up his bunt attempt, Robinson Cano hit a swinging bunt for an out and Logan Morrison lined out.

Mariners 0, Rangers 0

Second inning

The Rangers grab a 1-0 lead. Hisashi Iwakuma left a first pitch sinker up to Brad Snyder, who hit it into the Mariners’ bullpen for his first big league homer. Snyder had 18 homers in AAA this season and is a longtime minor leaguer.

Kyle Seager led off with a single, but got thrown out on a strikeout/throw out double play. Ackley doubled to right, but he couldn’t score on Willie Bloomquist’s single up the middle because Elvis Andrus did a nice job of at least knocking the ball down and preventing the run from scoring. Brad Miller popped out to end the inning.

Rangers 1, Mariners 0

Third inning

Iwakuma gets out of a minor jam with a strikeout of Choo.

Jones had a one out single, but Cano hits his second dribbler in front of the plate and Morrison grounds out.

Rangers 1, Mariners 0

Fourth inning

Mariners strand two more runners.

Fifth inning

Iwakuma goes 1-2-3

The Mariners finally get a run across. With runners on first and second, Kyle Seager doubles into right field to score Endy Chavez and Robinson Cano.

Mariners 2, Rangers 1

Sixth inning

The Mariners put John Buck at first base to replace Logan Morrison. We were told that Morrison laceration on his forehead. I have no idea how he got it. Buck has never played first base in a big league or minor league game. He takes ground balls there often. Kind of makes you wonder about Montero’s defensive ability or lack thereof if they put Buck there instead of him.

Kuma gives up a lead-off single to Andrus. But Zunino erases him moments later, delivering a perfect strike to second on a tough low pitch, nailing Andrus on he steal attempt.

M’s go down 1-2-3

Mariners 2, Rangers 1

Eighth inning

Mariners push the lead to 5-1. Kyle Seager delivered his fourth hit of the game – a RBI double to left. Dustin Ackley added a RBI single and Brad Miller scored Mike Zunino on a sac fly to left .

Mariners 5, Rangers 1
