Mariners minor league report, July 2

Class AAA Tacoma

Erasmo Ramirez made his start on Wednesday after missing it on Tuesday. But he struggled early, giving up three runs in the first inning and the Rainiers lost 3-2.  Nick Franklin and Gabe Norieg drove in the Rainiers’ runs.

From the report: Franklin currently has an 10-game hit streak, batting .341 (15×44) with 5 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home
runs, 8 RBI and 3 walks. SS Chris Taylor has hit safely in 5 of his last 7 games with 3 multi-hit games, batting .367 (11×30) with 9 runs
scored, 2 doubles, 1 home run, 5 RBI and 5 walks. Over his last 11 relief appearances, RH Carson Smith is 0-1 with 2 saves and a 1.42
ERA (2 ER, 12.2 IP)

Class AA Jackson

The Generals game was suspended at 0-0 with one out in the bottom of the fourth because of rain. It will be picked up and finished before today’s scheduled game.

Class A High Desert

The Mavs couldn’t hold a three-run lead late in the game and lost 10-7. Jabari Henry hit his 15th homer of the season for High Desert in the loss. Tyler Smith had three hits, including a RBI triple.

From the report: Smith currently has a 6-game hit streak, batting .458 (11×24) with 8 runs scored, 2 triples, 2 RBI, 5 walks and 1 stolen base. Since June 11, Henry has reached base safely in his last 15 games, including hits in 14 games, batting .397 (25×63) with 15 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 16 RBI and 7 walks. C Tyler Marlette has hit in 10 of his 11 games, batting .404 (19×47) with 10 runs scored, 5 doubles, 3 home runs, 10 RBI and 3 stolen bases.

Class A Clinton

The LumberKings lost 7-5 to Burlington. Justin Seager and Isaiah Yates each had two hits and combined to drive  in Clinton’s five runs. Jack Reinheimer also added two hits.

Short A Everett

The Aqua Sox lost 3-1 to the Hillsboro Hops Taylor Smart drove in Everett’s only run with a sac fly. Jordan Cowan had two hits.

Rookie League Pulaski

Daniel Missaki,who was named the Appy League player of the week, left his start on Tuesday after two innings with an apparent injury. Pulaski lost 8-1 .

Rookie League Arizona

Four Mariners pitchers combined to hold the AZL Brewers to one hit in a 4-1 win. Alex Jackson went 2-for-2 with two walks in the win.
