  • 1982 – Julio Cruz went 3-4 at the plate, stole two bases, scored three runs and drove in two more to spark the Mariners to a 5-4 win over the NY Yankees in the Kingdome.
  • 1985 – Domingo Ramos capped a 17-hit Mariners attack with an 11th-inning single to beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-6, in the Kingdome.  Ramos entered the game in the 10th inning as a pinch runner.  Edwin Nunez hurled three innings of shutout ball to pick up the win.
  • 1989 – Ken Griffey Jr. blasted a pair of home runs (422 ft. & 426 ft. est. distances) and Gene Harris picked up his 1st ML win as the Mariners defeated Minnesota, 7-3.
  • 1990 – Omar Vizquel belts HR #1 to aid Erik Hanson’s eight inning, nine strikeout pitching leading the Mariners to a 4-1 win at Cleveland.
  • 1995 – Tino Martinez has a career day in Detroit going 5 for 5 with 2 HR’s and 5RBI. Unfortunately it was not enough as the Tigers won 8-6.
  • 1995 – Edgar Martinez is named A.L. Player of the Month for June. Martinez hit .402, scored 24 runs, 8 HR, 32 RBI, 28 walks, a .761 slugging percentage and a .537 on base percentage in the 28 games during the month.
  • 1997 – Infielder Rich Amaral hits into a 8-6-3 triple play in a 5-4 loss at Anaheim.
  • 2011 – Jamey Wright earned his first career save in his 500th career appearance in the Mariners 4-2 win over the A’s in 10 innings. It is the 2nd most career appearances to notch a first career save, trailing only Frank Tanana, who had his first save in his 530th career appearance. Dustin Ackley went 2-for-3 with 2 runs and a home run to lead Seattle at the plate, and Felix Hernandez recorded a no-decision allowing 4 hits and 1 run (Kurt Suzuki solo HR in 8th inning) while striking out 10.
  • 2013 – Brad Miller hit a pair of triples in his first game batting leadoff, becoming the 13th Mariners player, and first since Carlos Guillen on May 9, 2003. Also the third rookie in club history with 2 triples in a game joining Spike Owen (6/28/83) and Danny Tartabull (5/13/86).

First inning

Quintana works a 1-2-3

Felix gives up a lead off single but retired the next three batters, including a strikeout of Jose Abreu on a nasty changeup.

Mariners 0, White Sox 0

 Second inning

Quintana strikes out the side.

Felix works a 1-2-3 inning

Mariners 0, White Sox 0

Third inning

Another 1-2-3 for Quintana. He struck out two more, giving him six in the game.

Felix goes 1-2-3.

Mariners 0, White Sox 0

Fourth inning

Cano breaks up the no-hit bid with a two-out single to left. So that’s one story I wont’ be writing today.

James Jones keeps Jose Abreu from an extra base hit with a leaping, wall-crashing catch in center.

Mariners 0, White Sox 0

Fifth inning

M’s had something going. LoMo singled with two outs and Saundo singled to put runners on the corners. But Miller-o (yeah, that doesn’t work), struck out on a pitch in the dirt.

Willie Bloomquist with a nice catch against the wall in left field.

Mariners 0, White Sox o

Sixth inning

Quintana rolls 1-2-3.

Felix goes 1-2-3

Mariners 0, White Sox 0

Eighth inning

The Mariners had a chance. LoMo singled and Saunders drew a walk. Miller failed to get a bunt down. But he did move LoMo to third with a fielders’ choice. But Jones couldn’t get him in, striking out.  The White Sox went to righty Jake Petricka, and the Mariners went with Endy Chavez as a pinch hitter for Bloomquist. Chavez grounded out to end the inning.

Felix gives up a lead-off triple to Conor Gillaspie and then a double to Viciedo. A mishandled run down set up another runner at third base and was scored on Tyler Flowers’ sac fly to left.

White Sox 2, Mariners 0

Ninth inning

Those pesky Mariners score two runs. Zunino with a sac fly and Michael Saunders delivers the game-tying hit. It’s now 2-2

Medina works through an error from Brad Miller to start the game. And gets out of the inning after about an hour.

We go to the 10th.

10th inning

The Mariners have runners on second and third with one out, and Dustin Ackley strikes out. With two outs and the bases loaded, Mike Zunino popped to end the inning.

Mariners 2, White Sox 2

Somewhere in extra innings … .

The Mariners haven’t scored, neither have the White Sox.
