Tentative 2015 Mariners schedule – Seattle opens the season at Safeco Field

The Mariners and major league baseball announced the 2015 tentative schedules. Obviously game times aren’t on here. The Mariners will open the 2015 season at Safeco Field against the Angels on April 6. It’s the first time since 2008 that Seattle has not been on the road for opening day. Seattle has five three-city trips and also plays on the road after the All-Star break with two series. But at this point, it’s become pretty typical. As for interleague …

  • Home series:  Padres (May 12-13),  Giants (June 17-18), Diamondbacks (July 27-29), and Rockies (September 11-13).
  • Road series:  Dodgers (April 13-15),  Giants (June 15-16),  Padres (June 30-July 1), and Rockies (August 3-5).

There is some talk that in future years, MLB may address the “natural rivalry” issues for the Mariners, Rangers, Astros, Padres, Diamondbacks and Rockies …. since, well, there really isn’t any natural rivalries anymore. If the changes are made, there would be a rotation of those teams each year for the “natural” rivals setup. But nothing has been finalized on that.

Here’s the schedule from MLB.com

Here’s the master schedule
