Taijuan Walker done pitching in the Arizona Fall League

The Mariners sent out an update on pitching prospect Taijuan Walker, who had been pitching in the Arizona Fall League. Walker is done after two starts and is returning to his home in Southern California.

“Taijuan is completely healthy and was very impressive in his two outings but made a personal decision that he needed to return home at this time,” General manager Jack Zduriencik said in a statement. “He will continue with his off-season program and we look forward to seeing him at Spring Training in February.”

Walker made two starts for the Surprise Saguaros, pitching a total of nine innings and allowing two earned runs, while striking out 11 batters.

The plan was for Walker to make about four or five starts in the AFL to build his overall innings count after missing  much of the early part of the season with shoulder issues.
