The San Francisco Giants: 2014 World Series Champs — So what’s next?

So the worst thing about today? It means there is no baseball till April 6, 2015. The 2014 season comes to end with the wild card teams battling for seven games in the World Series. The Giants, led by Madison Bumgarner (Beast), Pablo Sandoval (Panda) and Hunter Pence (giraffe on meth) outlasted the Royals in seven games.

I’m not going to set up a poll (I forgot how). But if you were Royals third base coach Mike Jirschele, would you have sent Alex Gordon home on that play in the bottom of the ninth? Why?

I probably would have done it. Because they weren’t hitting Bumgarner. And if a player could still run over the catcher, I definitely would have sent him.

But oh well, it was a fun postseason. It was odd to think that the Mariners were so close to being a part of it. I’m sure it gnaws at a lot of you. The postseason is just so intense and dramatic. It would have been fun to cover.

So to quote President Jed Bartlett in “The West Wing” …. what’s next?
