Mariners acquire outfielder Justin Ruggiano from the Cubs

The trade that was debated, discussed and fretted about is done. The Mariners have acquired outfielder Justin Ruggiano from the Cubs in exchange for right-handed reliever Matt Brazis. Mariners winter league report — December 16

Here’s the weekly winter league report from Kelly Munro … Of note … Baseball America is reporting that Carlos Rivero, who was non-tendered and  is leading the Venezuelan League in homers with 14, has signed a minor league contract with Seattle with an invite to major league spring training.
