Mariners freeze pricing on full-season ticket packages

Thank you all for your kind words about the new job I will be starting up in November. You’re all stuck with me for the rest of this season, so might as well stay used to it. The Mariners begin another marathon road trip here in St. Louis tonight, trying to pull out of this four-game losing streak they’re on.

The Mariners today put out their 2014 season ticket prices in a detailed press release. You may remember that last year, there was a bit of an outcry over the team raising ticket prices nearly across the board without really going into detail about it with the folks paying for them.

This year, the team is not going to risk a repeat of that. So, they’ve laid out what happening price-wise.

First, for those buying full season ticket packages, there is no change. The cost will stay exactly the same and will offer discounts of 19 percent to 33 percent over buying single-game tickets.

Now, the remaining packages is where things get tricky, mainly because the team uses variable pricing that changes how much a ticket costs depending on the opponent, the day of the week, time of season and special events.
