Wire reports and Sunday Market staff

Have a budding fashionista on your holiday gift list? Don’t be intimidated trying to reach her level of teen cool — just start with this batch of on-trend items that will let her express her personal style and stand out from the pack.

Attainable high fashion

French designer Catherine Malandrino’s limited-edition collection for Kohl’s is all about feminine Parisian style. Give her the Lock Sweater (on sale for $29) and Pleated Faux-Leather Skirt (on sale for $27, both at kohls.com) for a look that is effortlessly chic.

French style is au courant — add more to her wardrobe when Isabel Marant for H&M debuts on Nov. 14. The French icon mixes bohemian and rock ’n’ roll influences, and early peeks at the collection show textured sweaters, leather and printed pants, and lots of delicate prints.

Big-screen beauty

Style lovers will be devouring the looks and trends highlighted in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” (out Nov. 22), as Katniss gets all dolled up for her victory tour. Your beauty fan can channel the Capitol’s over-the-top glamour with CoverGirl’s Capitol Collection. The limited-edition line includes vivid metallic Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis nail polishes ($3), Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Glosses ($6), Flamed Up Curl Mascara ($6) and Nail Stickers ($7, all at drugstores and major retailers).

If you teen is into high drama, she may also fall for Deborah Lippmann’s Wicked Set ($29 at Sephora). The limited-edition nail-polish collection celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Broadway show “Wicked” with polishes in shimmery pink, creamy emerald and glittery emerald.

Multitasking bags

Colorblocking continues as a strong trend. Apply it to a bag that can serve as a wallet or a clutch with the Gap Two-Tone Leather Pouch (on sale for $25) in yellow and white or two shades of pink.

Or go for a phone case that can also tote her cash and ID with the Fossil Sydney Leather Phone Wristlet ($65 at nordstrom.com). It has an edgy star pattern in gold on bone that’s a little bit rock ’n’ roll.

Shoes that go all day

She’ll look great on rainy days with the Chooka Top Solid Rain Boot ($65 at Nordstrom). They’re the perfect height for jeans or skirts, and the navy color puts them right on trend for fall.

Take the classic moccasin and give it a design twist from cool-girl clothing line Wren and you get the Wren x Minnetonka Beaded Moccasins ($65–$75 at wrenstudio.com). These hipster shoes are stylish and comfortable.

Edgy accessories

Accessories are a great place to try out the latest trends. Add a dash of plaid to her wardrobe with Madewell Openweave Scarf ($58 at madewell.com) The wool scarf’s open weave gives it texture and delicacy, while the subtle plaid print gives it pop.

Houndstooth and menswear looks are also hot. Get both with the Timex Weekender Houndstooth Strap Watch ($40 at Target), which has a leather strap and silver face.
