Eco chic: Bag mixes wool and old water bottles

By Bree Coven Brown / Special to Sunday Market

peacockbag_0126_500Sustainable fashion is in the bag.

The Keeper Goods Convertible Peacock Bag is handcrafted in Seattle by Phyllis Chu using recycled PET (the plastic used to make water bottles and food and beverage containers), along with wool and leather.

The front flap features an elegant laser-cut peacock-feather design, and the vegetable-tanned leather sides are stitched by hand.

The versatile bag has an adjustable strap that detaches to transform it into a clutch for evening. Strut your stuff in four colors: mint green, charcoal gray, cocoa brown and natural white.

$118 at Clementine, West Seattle; Bellevue Arts Museum store; and keepergoods.com
