Eco chic: Repurposed wood vases are one of a kind

By Bree Coven Brown / Special to Sunday Market

Bud-Vase_0209_630Cast-off lumber finds new life as sleek, minimalist bud vases by The Design Pallet, Bruce Hanamura’s one-man Seattle studio.

The Modern Wood Bud Vase is handcrafted from salvaged walnut wood, with eight glass test-tube vases in a neat little row. Instead of toxic finishes, Hanamura uses beeswax and lemon oil to polish the natural wood.

Hanamura’s sustainable home décor, which also includes tables, bookends and spice racks, can be customized for size, shape and wood type.

The base pictured measures 11 inches long and 2.25 inches tall. Turnaround time is about two weeks.
