Kids’ shop: Hip tees that are also ethical

By Bree Coven Brown / Special to Sunday Market

Pigeon_0504_430Get the kids ready for their close-ups in Pigeon Camera Kids’ onesies and T-shirts.

Seattle design and screen-printing shop Choke Shirt Company started this children’s collection as a hipster parent’s alternative to cutesy mainstream kids’ clothing. Pigeon Camera Kids’ sweatshop-free apparel features modern, original designs hand-printed in Sodo using phthalate-free inks.

Designs include vintage video-game aliens, a skateboarding pig and a dodo bird listening to a Walkman.

Available in sizes 6 months to 12 years.

$18–$20 at pigeoncamerakids.com, Choke Shirt Company (Sodo) and Retail Therapy (Capitol Hill)
