Looking for some new digs for your flock? Saltbox Designs, owned and operated by local carpenter Berg Danielson, designs and builds chicken coops in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.
Danielson uses local Western red cedar because it’s naturally rot-resistant and can be painted or weather naturally to a beautiful gray. Unpainted metal roofing completes the look.
Delivery within 25 minutes of Ballard is available for a flat fee of $60. The company also makes sheds, planters, bee hives and greenhouses.
Chicken coops $495–$1,295 at Saltbox Designs display yard (Ballard) and saltboxdesigns.com
