Locavore: ‘Painted’ pillows are works of art
By Bree Coven Brown / Special to Sunday Market
Don’t just hang art on your walls — adorn your sofa with a Pillow Case printed with an original digital painting by local artist Mac Meckley.
Meckley “paints” each design with a stylus on a tablet that serves as a digital canvas. The designs are then printed onto all-natural linen, cotton and silk charmeuse with a complementary pattern on the back.
There are three lines: Blooming, which features vibrant florals; Fetching, with cute dog faces; and Dashing, which features masculine designs such as feathered revolvers.
Each pillow case is made in Ballard, and measures 18 by 18 inches.
