Kids’ shop: Children’s tale with kittens and foodies

By Bree Coven Brown / Special to Sunday Market

Oskar_400_0111Are you a true Seattleite?

Then you’re likely to love “Oskar & Klaus: The Search for Bigfoot,” a new children’s book featuring a foodie Sasquatch who cooks gluten-free.

The book is the first for Oskar & Klaus, a Seattle-based online retailer of pet toys and accessories. It stars its namesake feline odd couple: Oskar, born blind, and Klaus, a rescued stray. The pair goes on a Pacific Northwest camping trip that culminates in a search for Bigfoot.

Written by Mick Szydlowski and Travis Bossard, and illustrated by Alex Novoseltsev, the book teems with local flavor and humor. For ages 4 and up (and cat-loving adults).
