You’ve got the date, the dinner reservation, and (gasp!) absolutely nothing to wear to the big dance.

Prom season has arrived, and the hunt for dream dresses and tux ties is officially in full swing. Get a load of these gorgeous options that will help you shine on the big night.

Blue hues

Rule the prom in a regal shade of blue. The Emerald Sundae Juniors’ Sequin Cutout Gown ($89 at Macy’s) has an on-trend, midriff-baring cutout with an icy-blue skirt and light-catching top.

A backless style, such as the Forever 21 Crisscross Cutout-Back Maxi Dress ($25) in pastel blue, shows off just the right amount of skin, and looks minimalist-chic with nude heels and delicate jewelry.

Channel your inner Elsa with the pale-blue City Studios Juniors’ Rhinestone Tulle Gown ($179 at Macy’s), which features a cinched-waist for a figure-flattering fit up to size 24. And it will save you on accessories thanks to its high, rhinestone-encrusted neckline and belt.

Red haute

Maybe your inner princess is a bit bolder. If so, you’ll fall for the Sherri Hill Fairytale Ball Gown ($498 at Dolce Bleu, Sodo), with an embellished sweetheart bust and sweeping satin skirt for a classic prom shape that is sure to turn heads.

Cutout dresses made a serious impact on the red carpet this year. Try the trend with the sleek, sophisticated BCBG Brielle Sleeveless Side-Pleated Gown ($368) that features semi-sheer side panels and an open back.

Glamazons should try on the City Studios Juniors’ Strapless Sweetheart Gown ($129 at Macy’s). The fitted, drop-waist silhouette has a high slit that will let you show a little leg on the dance floor.

Playful prints

The glittery gold bodice of the Forever 21 Chevron-Patterned & Chiffon Maxi Dress ($33) is eye-catching against a flowy, navy-blue chiffon skirt in sizes XL and 1X.

If you plan to spend prom night on the dance floor, opt for the short and sweet Chi Chi London Bandeau Debutant Midi Skater Dress In Floral Print ($108 at us.asos.com). The thick, satin-feel fabric has a retro feel, while the graphic floral print keeps it thoroughly modern.

Or try an on-trend, dark floral pattern, like the one on the H&M Conscious Exclusive Gown ($199). A plunging V-neckline and high slit add to its urban cool. The Conscious Collection, available on April 16, is made with sustainable materials and usually sells out quickly.

Standout sequins

Also from the upcoming H&M Conscious Collection is a white, sequin-covered high-low Conscious Exclusive Dress ($199) that’s effortlessly elegant.

The strapless a. drea Autumn Strapless Gown ($158 at Nordstrom) features  a beautiful blush color with an overlay of glittery gold flowers and a short train that’s oh-so enchanting.

Or steal the show in the stunning Terani Couture Beaded Top & Organza Two-Piece Ballgown ($415 at Nordstrom). It’s slim-fitting, cropped sequined bodice and layered skirt look ready for the red carpet or a modern-day castle.

Bold black

Looking for some edge? The Coast Simmer Dress with Fringe Detail ($316 at us.asos.com) is made of luxe chiffon with an overlay of feathered fringe for movement and style.

And for the girl who doesn’t really care for convention, the H&M Conscious Exclusive Romper ($70) swaps the dress for a halter-top jumpsuit with a wide sash that creates a flattering shape.

Guy’s Guide

Gentlemen, don’t let the ladies get all of the attention. Play your part for pictures with handsome looks from head to toe.

Instead of renting a tux, invest in a sport coat you’ll wear into the future, such as the Topman Ultra Skinny Black Suit Jacket ($220 at Nordstrom), with a slim cut and plenty of sheen. Try pairing the traditional black jacket with cool kicks instead of dress shoes.

Or go for the whole suit. You can never go wrong with navy, which you’ll wear to interviews and weddings for years. The Suitsupply Napoli Blue Plain Suit ($399) is perfectly tailored in a light wool with a slim cut.

If you’re sporting the classic black tux, make getting dressed a breeze with the Tommy Hilfiger Pre-Tied Solid Bow Tie ($45 at Macy’s). The silk tie comes pre-tied, and is available in a range of colors so you can coordinate with your date’s dress.
