T-Mobile vs. AT&T lines

Here is one interesting contrast:

AT&T is the exclusive provider of iPhones:

Lines form at Apple and AT&T stores around the country on and prior to launch day, so that people have a shot to buy the $500-$600 device.

A line outside the Apple University Village store last Friday started Thursday night.

T-Mobile USA starts selling the first Wi-Fi cellphone service in the country:

Lines form after T-Mobile offers to give away the phone and offer the service free for a year to the first 100 people (wearing bathrobes) at stores in 11 cities.

T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile’s event took place on Tuesday at the downtown Seattle store at 1527 Sixth Ave.

Also, at each store, one person had a chance to win a Samsung 40-in. LCD TV and a $1,000 Pier 1 Imports gift certificate.
