Seattle travel forecasting startup lands at Microsoft as Live Search Farecast, may get cash-back treatment
In addition to announcing its Live Search cashback program, Microsoft today is providing details on how it’s incorporating Farecast, the Seattle company it acquired for about $115 million in April.
The Farecast prediction tools actually appear to be existing on the home page of MSN Travel at the moment.
Microsoft is looking into rebates for Farecast to drive purchases through the site. From the press release:
“Microsoft will explore the possibility of also incorporating a cash rebate option for travel services booked and purchased through Live Search Farecast.”
