An online site for health advice and medical records from Microsoft and the Mayo Clinic

mayomsft.jpgMicrosoft and the Mayo Clinic today launched an online tool called the Mayo Clinic Health Manager, a Web site where you can get health advice and store your medical records. The Redmond software company and Rochester, Minn.-based medical center announced the service today.

Users can upload health records, information from home devices such as blood-glucose monitors and digital scales and share that information with other health-care providers. Users can also set up regular reminders tailored to their age and health.

Right now, the site offers guidance on pediatric wellness, vaccinations, adult wellness, pregnancy and asthma. They intend to add features for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

The site was built on HealthVault, an online platform Microsoft said was developed for secure storage of private information.
