It’s the National Day of Unplugging and I am unplugging Friday.
I don’t mean I’m using wi-fi. I am out of the office and not blogging about Microsoft and technology. I am also not going to be checking Charlie Sheen’s tweets.
If you want to unplug but you’re having trouble, there’s an app for that. Reboot, a nonprofit working on re-inventing Jewish traditions, has created a Sabbath Manifesto application for iPhone, Android and Blackberry. To get the app, text “REBOOT” to 738674 or go to www.sabbathmanifesto.org/unplug.
The app sends you text message reminders, and sends the equivalent of out-of-office text messages to people who are trying to text you.
Or you can do what I’m doing, which is turning my computer off in 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 …
