Microsoft opens store in Atlanta with American Idol winner

05-28McCreery_web.jpgMicrosoft opened its first retail store in Atlanta over the weekend.

The company continues to extend its chain of retail stores, following Apple’s strategy.

The store is at the Lenox Square Mall.

The new store held an “American Idol” concert Saturday featuring recent winner Scott McCreery and former contestants James Durbin, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina on Saturday.

This is Microsoft’s 9th store opening. The next two will open in Los Angeles at the Westfield Century City Mall and Houston at the Houston Galleria.
