About 70 percent of all Windows Phone owners have downloaded an Xbox Live game, according to Microsoft, which today announced expected new updates to Xbox Live on Windows Phone “Mango.”
“Mango,” the codename for the update of Windows Phone 7, is expected to be released this fall.
The announcement of the new Mango updates to Xbox Live came at Gamescon, the large trade fair for video and interactive games held annually in Cologne, Germany.
Among other features, the Mango update is expected to allow users to download add-on content through Xbox Live; improve gameplay for multiplayer games. and unlock achievements that can be worn as a badge by the user’s avatar.
Fourteen new games are also expected to be available, according to The Windows Blog, which has a list of the games.
Xbox Live games represent some of the top revenue grossing applications on Windows Phone, according to Microsoft.
