Windows Phone Mango to roll out in next week or two, Microsoft says

Windows Phone 7.5, generally referred to by its codename “Mango,” is set to roll out in the next week or two, according to a post on the official Windows Phone blog today.

At that time, the blog says, “we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.”

During the official Windows Phone 7.5 update process, every Windows Phone wil receive software from the handset manufacturer, wrote Eric Hautala, general manager of customer experience engineering, who also cautioned against installing unofficial or leaked copies of Windows Phone software.

The rollout date will likely put the Mango phone in head-to-head competition with iPhone 5, which will reportedly make its public debut Oct. 4, according to All Things D.
