Report: Microsoft talking to some two dozen providers about streaming content through Xbox Live

In addition to offering online pay television service from Comcast and Verizon, Microsoft is in talks with almost two dozen providers of music, sports, movies and TV shows — including HBO, Bravo and Syfy — about streaming content through Xbox Live.

That’s according to Bloomberg News, which cited unnamed sources familiar with the matter. Bloomberg says Microsoft may announce an expanded Xbox Live streaming service as soon as next week.

Microsoft has been making a push to take Xbox beyond just being a video-game console into an entertainment hub for the living room.
