Report: Microsoft expected to announce new Xbox features – HBO? Bravo? – today

Microsoft is expected to make a “long slew of announcements” about new Xbox features today, including the ability to use the game system as a cable box/streaming video service, according to this AllThingsD report.

Microsoft, which already offers ESPN on Xbox Live featuring content from ESPN3.com, has been in talks with some two dozen other cable content providers including HBO, Bravo and Syfy, according to an earlier Bloomberg News report

The additions would be part of Microsoft’s move to make the Xbox not just a video-game console but also an entertainment hub for the living room.
