Some Windows Phone Mango users report disappearing keyboards

Some users of the Mango update of Windows Phone are reporting randomly disappearing onscreen keyboards.

On forums such as Twitter, XDA-Developers and WMPoweruser.com, some users say their keyboards are not appearing as expected or disappearing while they type. The problem appears to be random, and not limited to a certain phone brand, according to the WMPoweruser site, which noted other issues, including live tiles not updating on some users’ phones.

Microsoft is aware of the issue, according to Mary Jo Foley at ZDNet, who said a spokesperson emailed the following statement to her on Monday: “Customer support is working with the individuals reporting changes to their experience. We are investigating these reports to determine the root cause of any issues users are having.”

We have contacted Microsoft as well and will update if there is news.

Mango, officially called Windows Phone 7.5, is the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system. Updates are being rolled out to existing Windows Phone 7 users, and new handsets featuring Mango are expected to hit shelves in the U.S. in the next few weeks.
