Recently launched white Lumia 900 out of stock at AT&T online

The white version of the Nokia Lumia 900, which launched Sunday, is already out of stock at the AT&T online store.

The cyan version has been out of stock for a while too, while there are still black Lumia 900s available.

So is it higher-than-expected demand? Can’t say for sure until Nokia releases numbers later this year. But AllThingsD reported earlier that a Nokia spokeswoman had said that the company was “producing more devices to satisfy demand as quickly as possible.”

That’s a good sign for Microsoft, which is scrambling to get traction in the smartphone market. It also bodes well for carriers: for AT&T, which put in big marketing bucks behind the Lumia 900, and for Verizon, which is looking at carrying the next version of the Windows Phone operating system, Windows Phone 8.
