Microsoft reaches Android patent agreement with Pegatron

Microsoft has reached a patent agreement with Pegatron, an original design manufacturer (ODM) that designs and manufactures computing devices that become branded by other companies.

The agreement covers an array of Pegatron products including eReaders, smartphones and tablets running the Android or Chrome platforms. Microsoft will receive royalties from Pegatron, although the companies did not specify how much.

The agreement means MIcrosoft has now licensed four of the top five Taiwanese ODMs, according to Microsoft’s news release.
