Amazon Instant Video app now available for iPad

Amazon announced today that it now has an Amazon Instant Video App for iPad, which allows customers to stream or download their already purchased or rented TV shows or movies from their video library onto their iPad.

The app also makes available titles from Amazon’s Prime Instant Video available to Prime members, according to the Amazon news release.

Customers also have access to their Watchlist — movies or TV shows they want to watch — from the app, although they won’t be able to purchase them directly from the app itself.

The move comes about two months after Amazon debuted its Instant Video app on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console, available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Amazon also has the app available on other devices such as the Kindle Fire, PlayStation 3,and Roku. It is not available on Apple TV.
