Microsoft share of U.S. smartphone platform still tiny

The June numbers are out from research firm comScore and it looks like Microsoft still has a huge way to go to catch up in the smartphone marketplace.

comScore says for the three months ended in June, Microsoft platforms — which include both Windows Phone and the outdated Windows Mobile — held only 3.8 percent of the U.S. market. Microsoft’s U.S. market share has been hovering at about the 4 percent mark for months now.
