New Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 handsets to be unveiled Sept. 5?

Nokia and Microsoft have sent out the following invitation to a press conference on Sept. 5 in New York City.

I’ve put in queries to Nokia and Microsoft as to what the event will be about, but I’m assuming it’s to announce upcoming Nokia Windows Phone 8 handsets — specifically Lumia models, given the Lumia designation at the bottom of the invitation. The press conference comes on the same day as the start of Nokia World, scheduled for Sept. 5-6 in Helsinki, Finland, at which it’s been rumored that new Windows Phone 8 handsets would be announced.

[Update 11:08 a.m.: A Microsoft spokeswoman says there will be a live webcast of the event.]
