Microsoft’s annual employee meeting scheduled for Sept. 13

Microsoft’s annual employee meeting this year will be held on Sept. 13 at KeyArena.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Microsoft will be busing employees from the company’s Redmond campus to KeyArena and back.

About 15,500 people — the capacity at KeyArena — are expected to attend, said Microsoft spokesman Lou Gellos. Microsoft has about 40,000 employees in the Puget Sound area.

Last year, about 17,200 people attended the annual meeting when it was held at Safeco Field, which has a larger capacity than KeyArena.

Microsoft will provide an internal webcast of the meeting for employees who are not able to attend in person. About 55,000 employees watched last year’s webcast, Gellos said.
