Welcome to Microsoft Pri0: That's Microspeak for top priority, and that's the news and observations you'll find here from Seattle Times technology reporter Matt Day.

Microsoft to offer Xbox Music free streaming on Windows 8 devices

Microsoft today launched Xbox Music, further consolidating its entertainment offerings under the “Xbox” brand.

Xbox Music has a 30 million-track catalog and offers three methods for people to access that catalog: 1) free streaming for owners of Windows 8 tablets and PCs (this option comes with ads); 2) monthly subscription for $9.99 a month (this option has no ads); or 3) purchase to download (tracks are 99 cents to $1.99).

For those who already own an Xbox 360 console and have an Xbox Gold subscription, Microsoft will start rolling out Xbox Music starting on Tuesday.

My colleague, Brier Dudley, has more, as does Microsoft.
