Microsoft introduces Skype for Windows 8

Many divisions at Microsoft are introducing new versions or elements for Windows 8. Today, it’s Skype’s turn.

Skype for Windows 8 will be available when Windows 8 launches on Oct. 26. Today, the Skype team gave an introduction to it on this official blog post.

Skype for Windows 8 is designed to be always on in the background without draining the battery. Among the other features: Recent chat messages and calls are displayed next to tiles of people you contact the most often, and a one-easy-view screen that displays a dial pad along with how much Skype Credit you have, active subscriptions and recent calls.
