Emirates Airlines crews to use Windows 8 tablets

Emirates Airlines announced this week that its crews will be using an in-flight application running on Windows 8 HP ElitePad 900 business tablets to do everything from briefings of the cabin crew to conducting in-flight upgrades and taking care of other passenger needs.

The Dubai-based airline will use a line-of-business application called Knowledge Driven Inflight Service (KIS) that it has developed on the tablets, according to a Microsoft news release.

Emirates plans to deploy 1,000 of the HP ElitePad 900 tablets, which comes out in January.
