Bloomberg is reporting that Nokia has reached a deal with China’s largest wireless carrier — China Mobile — to sell a version of its Lumia 920 phones in that country.
The Lumia 920 is Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone 8 device. The deal would have Nokia selling a version of the device compatible with China’s TD-SCDMA technology, Bloomberg reported, citing a person who asked not to be identified before an official release. The phones would launch later this month.
The news comes in the same week that Apple announced it would be launching its iPhone 5 in China in mid-month.
Update: Nokia has confirmed that it will launch the 920T in China before the end of December.
