Dynamics CRM 2015, available in December, to include Cortana

Cortana, Microsoft’s digital voice assistant introduced on Windows Phone 8.1, is coming to Microsoft’s customer relationship management software.

Microsoft said Tuesday that its Dynamics 2015 offering would be generally available in December, and that Cortana will be integrated with Dynamics CRM 2015.

Cortana will help users set up meetings meetings and reminders; search for contacts, accounts and activities; view customer lists; and create new customer records, according to a Microsoft news release.

The Dynamics CRM platform itself will also include upgrades including new industry templates for a number of specific industries, such as financial services, retail, public sector, manufacturing and professional services, according to Microsoft.

The company also announced a new partnership with Thunderhead.com, building operability between Dynamics CRM and Thunderhead.com’s ONE Engagement Hub.

Microsoft also said there were updates to Dynamics AX and a new touch-optimized user experience for Dynamics NAV 2015.

The announcements were made at Convergence Europe 2014, a conference for Microsoft Dynamics customers and partners, running Tuesday through Thursday in Barcelona.
