Is this Microsoft ad sexist?

Microsoft recently released an ad that has been generating some buzz — but likely not for the reasons Microsoft intended.

The ad, called “Honestly: Wedding Planner,” features a woman talking about why she chose a Windows all-in-one PC with a touchscreen, rather than a Mac, and how she and her friends/bridesmaids use it to plan her upcoming wedding.

New Surface RT ad taking on iPad part of Microsoft’s efforts to goose sales

A day after Microsoft announced it was taking nearly a billion-dollar write-down on Surface RT inventory, it’s releasing a new ad pitting it against the iPad and touting the Surface RT’s now-lower price.

Of course, the lower price — a $150 reduction — is the reason Microsoft took a $900 million write-down in its fiscal fourth quarter on the Surface RT inventory in the first place.
