‘Stay safe!’ Most shared terms on Facebook during Sandy

While Sandy made landfall on the East Coast, two Seattle friends who recently moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., posted on Facebook. Both of them lost Internet access, and one shared a pic of an eerily dark New York City skyline.

“You OK?” I typed out to one. “Stay safe!” I told the other.

My reaction was not just typical, or common, but wildly popular.

Last night Facebook shared the 10 top words or phrases posted by U.S. users over the previous 24 hours:

This morning Facebook published a list of the top 10 most commonly shared terms by U.S. users as of 10 a.m. EST:

This storm hit hard, claiming lives and leaving millions without power. It’s been said before and I’ll say it again: Stay safe!
