Kevin Johnson says Sacramento offer “better than competitive”
Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson, speaking to a group of reporters at halftime of the Kings’ game Wednesday night, said that the city’s offer for the Kings is “better than competitive.”
His comments came in the wake of the report in the wake of the report earlier today that the current owners, the Maloof family, have set a Friday deadline to get a binding offer from Sacramento to serve as a backup to that made earlier by a Seattle group (details of that news below).
As noted here, Johnson also said “when you look at dollars and cents, it’s going to be very comparable” and that despite the perception, he has a good relationship with the Maloofs.
