The latest news about the NBA's possible return to Seattle.

April 16, 2013 at 8:18 AM

Tuesday update — Still no new offer from Sacramento, but city sets press conference for 1:30 p.m.

Not much to update this morning as there isn’t much new news out there on the Seattle/Sacramento situation.

That may soon change as the NBA’s combined Relocation/Finance Committee will meet tomorrow in New  York to further debate the issue.

For now, we don’t know yet what Sacramento’s updated offer for the team will  be — and that obviously will  be a key part of the discussion. However, that could change today as Sacramento  mayor Kevin Johnson  has called a press conference for 1:30 p.m. at which he will surely address this situation. The investor group trying to buy the Kings will  also be present.

I wrote this story for the Tuesday paper, updating the events of Monday and looking ahead.

Also, Sacramento Bee columnist Ailene Voisin wrote this morning on what losing the Kings would mean for Sacramento.
