Video — Spencer Hawes talks about wanting Sonics back in Seattle

While media were staking out the St. Regis Hotel in New York today waiting for NBA owners to emerge from the Board of Governors meetings, a familiar face appeared — that of former Seattle Prep and UW star Spencer Hawes, now playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Hawes, who was drafted  by Sacramento in the first round in 2007 and spent three seasons with the Kings, showed up wearing a Sonics hat and saying he was on vacation.

Hawes reiterated to Sacramento  media that he’s supporting the effort to bring the Sonics back because it’s his hometown and the team he grew up watching.
